Detail 1

Advanced Painting students from the University of Rochester collaborated with refugees from the non-for-profit organization Refugees Helping Refugees and with Dr. Douglas Stockman from Highland Family Medicine. Together, they created  "Painting for Health" a visual book designed to overcome some of the language and cultural barriers between doctors and refugee patients through the use of visual language. More than fifty books were printed and distributed to medical and refugee centers thanks to a grant from the Rochester Center for Community Leadership.
